Service & Feast
Friday, 25th September 2026: 6.30pm - 10:45pm
The Company Michaelmas Service will be held in the Chapel at the Merchant Adventurers’ Hall at 6:30pm on Friday 25th September 2026. This year, the Preacher of the Thomas Herbert Sermon will be The Rev Canon Maggie McLean, Canon Missioner York Minster. Following the Service, the Governor invites you and your guests to a reception in the Undercroft followed by the Michaelmas Feast in the Great Hall held on long tables.
Members are also most welcome to invite their families and other guests to attend the service and dinner noting that this is also an opportunity to invite professional business guests as an alternative to the Venison Feast.
The cost will be ÂŁ80.00 per person for the dinner inclusive of all wines. Dress for the evening will be black tie with decorations and badges of office. For any member attending the service only lounge suits may be worn.
Members of the Company attending the service are asked to gather in the reception area by 6:20pm prior to moving, by procession, to the Chapel. Spouses and guests should take their seats in the Undercroft by 6:25pm, stewards will be on hand to help direct those attending to their seats. The reception will immediately follow the Service and the Feast will be served at 7:45pm. Carriages should be arranged for 10:45pm
No tickets will be issued to members but a pour memoir for private guests will be sent to Members once confirmed. A seating plan will be available for viewing in the Members’ Area of the Company’s website approximately one week before the event.
Please complete the proforma found on the members area of the Company website below no later than Friday 11th September 2026, including all guest details and dietary requirements if at all possible, so the necessary arrangements can be made.
