Sue Palmer OBE
Sue Palmer OBE has been a Member of the Company since 2021 and is Chair of the Charity Committee, steering the Company’s many charitable iniatives.
Occupation and business:
At retirement I was International. Marketing Communications Director of Grant Thornton International, an accountancy federation operating in over 100 countries. I had also had 20 years plus involvement at Trustee/non executive Director in Heritage and Arts organisations, which led to the award of OBE for services to National Heritage. These interests continue today.
Why did you join the Company?
The unique fourteenth century Hall was a particular attraction to me. It is a privilege to play a role in maintaining such a rare mediaeval building and to encourage education initiatives which inspire others of all ages.
Relocating to Yorkshire, after a 35 year exile in Central London, I was keen to find a way to integrate into the business life of the City. Membership has given me a network of contacts and opportunities.
Best thing about being a member
Fellowship. As I have become more involved with the Company’s activities, the Hall has become something of a second home. It is a most welcoming environment.
